Pattie's Creations Challenge #47 Colour Combo

Howdy from Cowtown Alberta (that’s Calgary, Alberta for those of you that don’t know). My dd and I are here to ,work at the Calgary Stampede this year and if you don’t know what it is, check out this link. They are celebrating 100 years of the Stampede this year and are really going all out for it.

Pattie’sCreations is also celebrating. The USA is going to be celebrating July 4th soon and so we want to see your red, white and blue creations! But it doesn’t have to be for July 4th…it can be anything as long as you have the colours red, white and blue. Now seeing as how I’m here in Calgary and I’m going to be at a Stampede, what better image to use than a horse. My image is called Carousel Horse and can be found here.
The style of card that I did is called a Dutch fold card. The dark blue cs and the light blue polka dot dp are by Bazzil and the red dp is by BoBunny. The small red roses are Prima mini roses and the white flowers I’m sorry, but I just can’t remember who they’re by (and unfortunately I’m not home to check). The blue and red ribbon and the white star eyelets that I threaded the ribbons through are from my stash. The sentiment on the inside top is by Nana Vic’s and the Happy Birthday sentiment is a stamp by Stampin Up.
Our challenge starts today and ends on July 12th at 1 p.m. It is a rule with Pattie’s Creations that your creation must have either a digital or stamped image on it. While it is not required that you use an image from Pattie’s Creations we would be sooooo happy if you did. Don’t have a Pattie’s Creations image? No problem, just check out our challenge blog….Pattie sometimes gives away a freebie. For a list of all the rules and prizes head to our blog and check it out. And while you’re there check out the incredible creations my team mates have made…and maybe share a little love for them. Thanks for looking…..

Kick Back and Relax

Good morning, hope you are all having a fabulous day. It is gorgeous here….the sky is blue and the sun is shining…and it’s supposed to get smokin’ hot today….whooo hooo!!!  Gotta love it when the weatherman says no rain. And to celebrate the fact that the sun has at last decided to come out, I’m going to show you the Father’s Day card that I did up for my Father in Law. The image I used is by Nana Vic’s and is called MorningSwim.
I started out with “sand” coloured cs by Bazzil for the base and added some blue “dotty” paper also by Bazzil. The beach chair is an image by Cat Scrap and the tiki torch, sand dollar and starfish are stickers from Creative Imaginations. I stuck the tiki torch onto some of the sand coloured cs (to give it some stability) and then cut it out. The rhinestone swirl is something I had in my stash.
I took a piece of the sand coloured cs and embossed it with my Cuttlebug Candy Cane Stripe folder and then used my SU rounded corner punch on it. I then ran it through my crimper starting at one corner and going to the next. This gave the the embossing a wonderful texture to it.
I put this in behind My Mind’s Eye Surf’s Up Blue Waves dp, which was cut with my Nestibilities Labels One Small. I then put it all together on an Easel with 2 mini easel add on's card. My images were coloured with Crayola pencil crayons and oms.

And now, I am off to enjoy some of this nice weather. Thanks for looking.....Charlene

Good luck in Your New Home

I have some friends that are moving away to another province and I wanted to make them a special card to let them know how much we are going to miss them. So it’s really lucky that I just got this new stamp from Digistamps4Joy. It’s called FrontDoor Topiary and I just thought it was perfect for what I wanted to do.
I started out with a fabulous dp paper by We R Memory Keepers called Tres Elegant Sophisticated. The flowers are flocked so they are soft to the touch. I paired it up with a wonderful brown paper by Bazzil...I believe it's cappacino. I coloured the image with my Crayola pencil crayons and then cut it out and placed it with pop dots onto a piece of the peach dp that was cut out using my Nestibilities Labels One small set.
The frame in behind is a cutting file I won by The Cutting Cafe. It comes in pdf, svg and wpc....which is good because I don't have a cutting machine so I printed it up in pdf and cut out the two frames by hand. The corner die is Madera by Memory Box, the vines die is Savannah by Memory Box and the flowers are by Recollections. I used two different shades of green flatbacked pearls and my Petite Scalloped Ovals Nestibility for the sentiment I printed up on my computer. The little bow is from my stash.

Digistamps4Joy Challenge #44 Happy Anniversary Vintage

It’s time for another challenge at Digistamps4Joy and this time we want you to make an Anniversary card with or without a vintage technique or feel.

I chose to use a brand new image at Digistamps4Joy called The Dress. This image was just released on Sunday.
I wish I could tell you what the dp was that I used, but there was no name on them and when I asked at the store I bought them at they didn't know either lol. I do know that the cream cs is by Bazzil. The Peach flowers are from my stash, the vine is my Memory Box die Savanah. The corner punch is from the Vintage set by Cuttlebug.
The small brass flowers I picked up in Vancouver at Granville Island (they didn’t have a name to them). I put small peach coloured pearls, that my good friend Tee sent me for my birthday, in the centers. The pearls on the corner punches were also from Tee. I added gold flecked stickles to her tiara, flowers and for her ring. I used my triple heart corner punch by Maped for the corners on my green strips. And I coloured her with my Crayola Pencil crayons and oms.

I finished off the inside of my card with the same papers but left the right hand side blank so that I can fill it in when I know who it’s going to.
I used a sketch from Alota Rubber Stamps.
Unfortunately their sketch challenge is over…but I still like the sketch lol.

Our challenge will be running for the next two weeks. This week it is team A’s turn to inspire you and we would love to see what you create. You are not required to use a Digistamps4Joy image but if you do you will have the chance to win our DT’s Choice Prize….a $10 Gift Voucher to spend in the store!! For a list of all of the rules and prizes head on over to our blog and while you’re there check out all of the fabulous creations that my team mates have done up.

Thanks for looking…..Charlene

Birthday Wishes

Today I'm going to show you a fat page that I made for a friend of mine...it's late so I hope that she's going to like it enough to forgive me lol. For those of you that don't know what a fat page is, here is a link to check them out. They are lots of fun to make, but a bit of a challenge...at least for me *chuckling*. As this one is going to be going into an album of fat pages I didn't want to go too hog wild on the embellishments (not to mention it has to be mailed airmail and that costs a fortune!), so this is what I came up with.
The image is one of the new one's at Digistamps4Joy and it's called Best Friends. I coloured it with my Crayola Pencil crayons and oms. I added some white accents on the dog and girl with my white gel pen (thanks Jen...hope I did o.k. lol). The cs is from SU, the pink dp is Pink Punch Fourish by BoBunny and the other dp is from my stock. Sorry I don't have a name for it, but I do know that it is by K & and Company. The corner punches are from the Vintage set by Cuttlebug cut out of cs from SU. The sentiment is one I did up on my computer, the flatbacked pearls are by Recollections and the heart gems are from my local dollar store.
The other side of the flat page is done with a word art freebie by Digital Doodling.
I coloured this image again with my Crayola pencil crayons and oms plus my pink metallic gel pen and white gel pen. The gel pens were used to make it look like there is pink and white baby's breath around the wreathe. The brown cs is from SU and the little butterfly are from my local dollar store.
On the inside of the "card" on my fat page I used 2 sentiments that I found on Splitcoast Stampers.

Thanks for looking.....Chalene

Pattie's Creations Challenge #46 - Monochromatic

It's time for another fabulous challenge over at Pattie's Creations and this time we want you to make a project that is monochromatic. For those of you that are wondering "Monochromatic...what's that?" What we want you to do is pick a colour and make a project using various shades of that colour. It is o.k. to colour hair and flesh tones their natural colour.

I was so excited for this challenge because I got to play with one of Pattie's new images, Fishing Bear. He is just the cutest image and so perfect for a guy card.
Isn't he just adorable? I made him into a Father's Day card but he could be used for any kind of male card.
The card fold is an Easel with 2 mini easels and you can find the tutorial for it here.

The base cs is a olive green by SU, the polka dot dp is by BoBunny, the patterned dp is BoBunny's Roughin' It Nature dp, and the light green dp behind the bear, trees and sentiments is by Bazzil. I coloured the image with Crayola Pencil Crayons and oms, cut him out and added him to the card with pop dots. I added green flatbacked pearls by Recollections and a sentiment by Nettie's Cards cut out with my SU scalloped circle punch. The sentiment on the front mini easel is by A Piece of Heart. The two trees are from a rubber stamp from the SU collection Lovely as a Tree. I stamped it onto the green dp by Bazzil with my Wild Wasabi SU Classic Ink Pad.

The challenge runs from June 15th until Thursday June 28th at 1p.m. CST. It is a Pattie's Creations Rule that you must use an image, it can be a digital or stamped image. For a full list of our rules and prizes head on over to Pattie's Creations Challenge Blog. While you're there check out all the marvelous creations that my team mates have made.

Anything but a card....for a wedding

Hi all, we have another fabulous challenge in full swing for you over at Digistamps4Joy. Last week Team A of our Design Team wowed you with their incredible creations....now it's Team B's turn. The theme for this challenge is Anything BUT a Greeting Card for a Wedding. You can make tags, albums, scrapbook pages...whatever your imagination can come up with...as long as it's not a greeting card.
I decided to do something that you could use on the tables at a wedding or maybe as gift favours for the guests.
I
I made this tealight holder using Digistamps4Joy's gorgeous image Bedazzled Bride...I will have to get back to you on the link for this tealight holder...I just realized that I was using my dd's computer when I made this and I save the link on her computer lol. I just love this image...it was so much fun to play with. Margy did an incredible job of all of the fine details on her dress and veil...just take a look.
I used a satin finish cs from Bazzil and covered it with this incredible new paper that I found....it's almost like a material. I wish I could tell you who it is by but I only bought a couple of sheets and there is no manufacture name on it lol. Might try and find out from the store that I bought it from. The pearls are by Recollections and the flowers are by Offey Stylish Accents. I outlined all of the fabulous detail on her dress and veil with my glitter gold gel pen and then added some stickles for an extra bit of glitter (cause you know I just love the glitter and bling).
I used my SU round scalloped punch to punch a hole in two sides for the candle light to show through and then covered the hole with velum paper the I had hand written the sentiment on with a fine tip felt pen. I put in a battery operated tealight to show how it would look. I used my Memory Box Savanah die to add vines around the flowers. I cut the vines out of gold metallic cs by Bazzil.

The rules of the challenge are easy...make a project that is for a wedding but is not a card. You have until June 18th to enter. For the list of rules and prizes, please check out our Challenge Blog. Hope to see you all there and while you're there check out all of the fabulous creations the rest of my teammates have made...you'll be glad you did.

Digistamps4Joy New Challenge and New Release

Our new challenge for Digistamps4Joy is up and running and the theme this time is June Bride...Anything but a card. Our DT has now been divided into two Groups...Group A and Group B. Group A has already got their fabulous images posted on our blog, while Group B (my group) will be posting theirs this coming Wednesday. But I decided to give you a little sneak peak of what I've done in the hopes that you'll come back on Wednesday to see the whole thing.
I'm hoping that that will wet your appetite enough to come back and see the full image on Wednesday. In the mean time, please head on over to our blog and check out what Team A has done and join in this fabulous challenge.

We also have a NEW RELEASE  Day happening today. Our fabulous artists have been drawing up a storm and Margy has posted 20 new images! That's right, there are 20 new images that have been added to the store.

I got to play with one by our new artist Aisne and it's called Little Golfer. I thought that it was perfect for a Father's Day card for my Dad.
Isn't he just adorable? I paper pieced his hat, vest and pants with BoBunny's Roughin' It Nature dp, green cs from Bazzil, and the brown dp is from my stash. The green dp behind the Little Golfer image is by Bazzil also. I finished it off with green ribbon and golfing stick on's that I had in my stash. The card is called an Easel tealight holder card but I decided to fill a bag with a fabulous herbal tea that I have (my dad loves tea) and stick it where the tealight candles would go.

To check out all of the other incredible images that are being released, just go to our Challenge Blog. If you click on the pictures of the images on our blog, it will take you directly to the image in the store.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you all entered into our current challenge.

Hugs ~ Charlene

To One Cool Dad!!

It's time for another fabulous challenge at Pattie's Creations and this time the theme is Father's Day. That's right we want to see all of your fabulous creations made just for dad....after all, his day is going to be here soon.

I was so excited to be able to work with one of Pattie's newer images for this challenge. It's called Dog Days of Summer and it is just the greatest image. The first time I saw it I just knew that I wanted to do something with it.
I decided to do a card for my hubby from my kids with this wonderful image. I wanted it to be something that gives him the idea to kick back and relax but also show a bit of who he is...someone that is always tinkering around the house.
I coloured the image with my Prisma Scholar Pencil crayons and used oms to blend. The cs for the base is by Core'dinations, the green with black polka dot dp is by the Lost and Found series of My Mind's Eye, and the blue dp with margarita's on it is called Tropical Paradise by Reminisce. The tools and are from Recollections and the "Drinks" are from my stash.
To join in on our challenge just go to Pattie's Creations Challenge Blog. You don't have to use a Pattie's Creations image...although we would be thrilled if you did, but if you do it will give you an extra chance in our random draw. All creations must have a stamped or digital image (this is one of Pattie's rules). You can also find a list of our rules and prizes there as well as all the fantabulous creations that my team mates have created. I know they would appreciate a word or two from you.

Thanks for popping in and I hope to see you all for this wonderful challenge....
